51 45 030 Removing And Installing Instrument Panel Trim
IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on protection against electrostatic damage (ESD protection).
Observe the following instructions to facilitate removal of the instrument panel trim:
- Move front seats back completely and lower
Necessary preliminary work:
- Disconnect battery negative cable
- Remove steering wheel
- Remove trim panel for roof pillar at front , left and right
- Remove instrument panel trim at bottom left
- Remove right glove box with housing
- Remove heater/air conditioning control panel
- Remove complete centre console
- Remove steering column shroud
- Remove Start/Stop switch
- Remove instrument panel
- Remove storage compartment
- Remove mid-range speaker
In appropriate version:
- Remove radio receiver
- Remove Central Information Display
- Remove Car Information Computer
- Remove solar sensor
Release plug connections (1) to right airbag module and disconnect.
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 51 71 5AZ.
Unfasten screws (2).
Pull back instrument panel trim (3) in direction of arrow.
If necessary, disconnect available plug connections and remove instrument panel trim (3).
Installation note:
Make sure guides (1) of instrument panel trim (2) are correctly seated in mountings.
Make sure gaskets are correctly seated on air ducts.
