51 16 165 Removing And Installing Complete Centre Console







When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.







Necessary preliminary work:
- Move selector or gearshift lever towards rear
- Remove cover for storage compartment
- Remove rear centre console cover

Version up to 07/2012 in addition:
- Remove centre console cover
- Remove trim for instrument panel at bottom right
- Remove trim panel for pedal mechanism







Version after 07/2012:
Pull out control panel (1) in direction of arrow.

Installation note:
Ribbon cable for control panel (1) must not be trapped.







Disconnect all existing plug connections in the marked area.







Release front nuts (2) and bolts (3) on centre console (1).
Tightening torque 51 16 17AZ.

Installation note:
Replace self-locking screws.







NOTE: Diagram similar.

Lever out cover (1) on storage compartment (2) at side and release screw underneath.







NOTE: Graphic similar.

Tighten parking brake lever (1) as far as possible.
Raise centre console (2) at rear and feed out to the top over parking brake lever (1) and gearshift or selector lever.
In so doing, disconnect remaining plug connections.
Carefully remove centre console (2).
