SITUATION
A grating noise can be heard coming from the left front side of the front console trim panel, where it meets the instrument panel, especially when driving on rough roads.
CAUSE
Insufficient gap clearance between the console trim and the instrument panel.
PROCEDURE
Reproduce the grating noise by pressing on the left side securing clip of the center console trim, and then proceed to the next step.
1. Refer to ISTA Repair Instruction 51 16 160, "Remove and install or replace the center console trim."
2. With the console trim removed, apply the anti-friction agent to the contact area of the instrument panel where the console trim is secured. Reinstall the center console trim, and check the effectiveness of the repair by pressing on the side trim again.

Labor operation code 51 16 160 is a Main labor operation. If you are using a Main labor code for another repair, use the Plus code labor operation 51 16 660 instead.
Refer to KSD2 for the corresponding flat rate unit (FRU) allowance. Enter the Chassis Number, which consists of the last 7 digits of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Click on the "Search" button, and then enter the applicable flat rate labor operation in the FR code field.
Even though work time labor operation code 51 99 000 ends in "000," it is not considered a Main labor operation.
