Hybrid Battery Bus / Cable: Service and Repair

12 51 060 Replacing High-Voltage Cable







WARNING: High-voltage system - danger to life.







WARNING:
The following points must be strictly observed prior to starting work:
- De-energize the high-voltage system
- Observe safety information for working with hybrid cars.







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect battery earth cable

NOTE:
Before disconnecting the minus battery cable, it must be ensured that the vehicle goes to sleep.
Observe a waiting period of at least 2 minutes.

- Remove reinforcement plate







Release screws (1).
Remove heat shield (2).







Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

IMPORTANT: Pay attention to instructions concerning plug connections in hybrid cars.







Cut open cable strap (1).
Unclip and remove high-voltage cable (2) from retaining clip (3).
Undo oil drain plug (3) and drain oil from oil filter head.
Tightening torque 11 42 2AZ.
Release screw (4).
Tightening torque 17 22 4AZ.

Installation note:
Make sure cables are correctly routed without chafing. Re-attach high-voltage cable to attachment points.







Undo screw (1) of oil cooler line holder.







Release plug connection (1) from air conditioning compressor (2) and disconnect.

IMPORTANT: Pay attention to instructions concerning plug connections in hybrid cars.







Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 12 36 9AZ.
Remove high-voltage cable (2).







Check oil level, correcting oil level if necessary.
