Trunk / Liftgate Weatherstrip: Service and Repair

51 71 387 Removing and installing/renewing rear water channel cover (rear lid) on left or right







Release clips (1).
Remove gasket (2).
Disengage water channel retaining lugs (4) from bumper trim guide.
Remove water channel cover (3) in direction of arrow.







NOTE: If clip mountings are removed during further operations (e.g. painting), always replace these mounting to ensure watertightness.

Installation note:
Retaining lugs on water channel cover must not be damaged or missing.
On installation of water channel cover, firstly engage retaining lugs in bumper trim guide.
