Parking Brake Shoe: Service and Repair



34 41 220 Removing and installing/renewing all parking brake pads

Special tools required:







Installation note:
- Remove rear brake disc
- Release electromechanical parking brake (EMF)

After completing tasks, adjust parking brake.

NOTE:
During replacement of the hand brake coverings, the following components must also be renewed:
- Brake shoe expander
- Adjusting screw
- Spring set







Disconnect return springs (1) with brake spring pliers.

Installation note:
Return springs (1) must not be overelongated.

Check return springs (1) and replace if necessary.
Return springs (1) must not be mixed up.
Pay attention to installation position of adjusting screw (2).
Apply a thin coat of grease to bush and screw threads,

NOTE: Illustration does not show wheel hub.







Twist roll pins (1) 90° with special tool 34 4 000 and detach.
Remove brake pads (2).
