32 41 430 Replacing ARS expandable hose part 1 (from vane pump to expandable hose) N55
Special tools required:
WARNING:
Danger of poisoning if oil is ingested/absorbed through the skin.
Risk of injury if oil comes into contact with eyes and skin.
IMPORTANT:
Adhere to the utmost cleanliness. Do not allow any dirt to enter the hydraulic system.
Do not draw off hydraulic fluid (risk of contamination).
Close off line connections with seal plug 32 1 270
Recycling:
Catch and dispose of hydraulic fluid in a suitable collecting vessel.
IMPORTANT: Pressure line and connections must be provided with suitable seal plugs 32 1 270 immediately after removal.
Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove front underbody protection
- Remove fan cowl
- Remove front left charge-air duct
- Remove air intake silencer housing
- Remove air conditioning compressor
- Detach power steering pump from engine
Release pipe holder (1).
Release screws (2) on power steering pump and set line aside.
Tightening torque, 32 41 14AZ.
Remove nuts (1) from line clip on transmission.
Tightening torque, 32 41 17AZ.
Turn power steering pump upward and release screws (1) from expandable hose.
Tightening torque 32 41 13AZ.
Undo screws (1) from flange and pull off expandable hose.
Tightening torque, 37 13 8AZ.
Remove expandable hose part 1 toward the top.
IMPORTANT:
When assembling, make sure that in succession only the seal plugs of the line to be fitted are removed.
When fitting lines, do not tilt connectors (sealing rings.) and connect fully before screwing.
After installation:
- Fill and bleed hydraulic system
- Check line connections for leak tightness
- Carry out initial Dynamic Drive operation
