32 41 331 Replacing pressure line for power steering (from steering gear to junction)
WARNING:
Danger of poisoning if oil is ingested/absorbed through the skin.
Risk of injury if oil comes into contact with eyes and skin.
IMPORTANT:
Adhere to the utmost cleanliness. Do not allow any dirt to enter the hydraulic system.
Close off line connections with seal plugs.
Recycling:
Catch and dispose of hydraulic fluid in a suitable collecting vessel.
Necessary preliminary work:
- Draw off and dispose of hydraulic fluid from oil reservoir
- Remove underbody protection at front and rear
- Remove charge-air duct
- Remove fan cowl
- Remove air conditioning compressor
- Remove power steering pump for hydraulic steering
Release screw (1) on steering box and pull off pressure line (3).
Tightening torque 32 41 5AZ.
Release screw (1) and disconnect block screw connection.
Tightening torque 32 41 11AZ.
Release screw (2).
Tightening torque 32 41 12AZ.
Remove pressure line (3) from above.
Pressure lines must be provided with suitable plugs immediately after removal.
Installation note:
Replace all sealing rings.
Make sure hydraulic line is laid without tension and with sufficient distance to adjoining components.
After installation:
- Fill and bleed hydraulic system
- Check line connections for leak tightness
- With Dynamic Drive: carry out Dynamic Drive start-up
