51 43 120 Removing And Installing/Replacing Rear Left Or Right Side Trim Panel







Operations on right side analogous to left side shown. Use graphics in a mirror-inverted way.

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove rear top side trim panel







Installation:
- Microencapsulated screws (Loctite) must be replaced and may not be reused
- Screw connection must be completed within 20 minutes (start of curing)
- Microencapsulated screws must not be retightened
- Clean thread of nut beforehand in event of repeated use







Snap out speaker cover (1) with a suitable tool.
Lever out fixing rivet (2) from rubber skirt for inner window cavity cover strip.

NOTE: For purposes of clarity, fixing rivet (2) shown with rubber skirt detached.

Installation:
If necessary, replace fixing rivet (2).







Partially remove door seal (4).
Lift off cover (2).
Remove storage net (3) with rod.
Release screw (1).

Installation:
Make sure door seal (4) is correctly seated.







Lever out retaining clips (1) with a suitable tool.
Release screw (2).
Tightening torque 72 11 03AZ.
Remove reversing clip (3).

Installation:
Deflection fitting (3) is encoded against incorrect installation.







Remove side trim panel (1), as pictured, in direction of arrow.
Unlock and disconnect plug connection behind.







Installation:
Make sure side trim panel (3) is correctly seated.
Retaining lugs (1) and (2) must not be damaged.
If necessary, replace side trim panel (3).

Replacement
Modify mid-range speaker.
