41 35 ... Removing and installing front left side panel
For stripping and rigging operations, refer to texts on KSD CD (FR number 41 35 050).
Observe gap dimensions.
CAUTION: Do not damage adjoining body parts.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove front bumper trim
- Remove wheel arch cover at front
- Remove trim for cover on side member
- Remove trim on wheel arch
- Remove gutter strip

Release screws.
NOTE: Side panel and headlight are removed together.
Tightening torque 41 35 6AZ [1][2]41 35 Side Walls
Tightening torque 41 35 7AZ [1][2]41 35 Side Walls
Tightening torque 41 35 8AZ [1][2]41 35 Side Walls
Tightening torque 41 35 9AZ [1][2]41 35 Side Walls
Pull out retainer (1) in direction of arrow.
Detach plug (1) on headlight.
For vehicles with auxiliary oil cooler only:
Lever out retainer (1) at bottom and detach towards rear.
Remove oil cooler and tie back.
Detach plug (1) on fog lamp.
For vehicles with auxiliary oil cooler only:
Remove cable grommet in holding frame for oil cooler.
For vehicles with auxiliary oil cooler only:
Release screw (1).
Tightening torque 17 22 5AZ. 17 22 Transmission Oil Cooler Lines
Release screw (1).
For vehicles with auxiliary oil cooler only:
Release screws (2) and remove holding frame for oil cooler.
Tightening torque 17 22 5AZ. 17 22 Transmission Oil Cooler Lines
Slacken screw (1).
NOTE: Poor screw accessibility.
Close front door.
Pull side panel in area of A-pillar outwards (1) until screw fastening points are exposed.
Pull side panel upwards (2) until plastic guide (3) is exposed.
Slide side panel towards rear (4) and feed screw (5) out of module carrier.
Installation:
Feed in shim of screw (5) with a small screwdriver.
Installation:
Following parts must not be damaged or missing:
- Spacer buffers (1)
