52 26 411 Replacing Backrest Cover For Left Rear Seat
Special tools required:
Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove rear seat backrest, left
- Remove guide sleeves
Depending on equipment specification:
Ohne SA 413: Unclip cover (1) for combined roller cover mount.
Mit SA 413: Unclip trim cover for combined roller cover mount.
With option SA 413:
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 52 26 09AZ.
Remove mount for combined roller cover.
Gently slide lock finisher (1) on side edge of backrest downwards and unclip to one side.
Gently slide lock finisher on rear side towards middle.
Unclip and remove lock finisher.
Installation note:
Retaining lugs on the trim cover for the lock must not be damaged.
Replace defective trim cover for lock.
IMPORTANT: Risk of damage.
Insert plastic wedge from outside between cover (1) and lock.
Carefully lever outer side of cover (1) with plastic wedge upwards out of catch.
Lever inner side of cover (1) with plastic wedge out of catch.
Remove cover upwards.
Release screws.
Tightening torque 52 26 06AZ.
Lift out trim.
Feed belt strap out of trim.
Carefully unclip strip (1) for channel cover along the marking on left and right.
Installation note:
Latch mechanisms must not be damaged
Replace defective strip for channel cover.
Use plastic wedge to unclip front centre armrest trim cover (1).
None of the retaining lugs on trim must be damaged.
Replace defective centre armrest cover.
Disengage welt in marked area from metal clamps.
NOTE: If necessary, carefully bend up the metal clamps.
Release screw (1).
Tightening torque 52 26 02AZ.
Remove outer mount (2).
Lever out welt in marked area from backrest frame.
Remove backrest cover with padding from backrest frame.
Detaching cover and upholstery:
- Release all clamps in marked area
- Remove cover from upholstery
- Remove all remnants of retainers from cover and padding
Installation note:
Insert new clamp (2) with special tool 52 0 050 and bend closed.
Replacing cover:
- Pull all trim wires out of cover
- If necessary, cut pockets in new cover for trim wires
- Push trim wires into cover pockets
