54 10 290 Removing And Installing/Replacing Drive Cable Plate







Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove front section of panorama glass roof

NOTE:
For following operation position individual component as follows:
- Assume position above emergency drive using offset hexagon socket (disconnect plug connection from drive for this purpose)
- Floating headliner closed
- Mechanism for glass slide/tilt sunroof cover in vent position
- Remove drive with gearing at front
- Remove water gutter







Remove left and right end stop (1) from guide rail.

Installation note:
Make sure end stops are securely seated in guide rail.







Slide drive cable plate with positioning wedge (1) forwards until guide of upper detent element (2) and lower detent element (3) is free (see marking).







Lift upper detent element (1) out of drivers of lower detent element (3) (see marking).







Release bridge (1) and slide lower detent element (2) towards rear.







Remove positioning wedge (1) of drive cable plate in direction of arrow.







If necessary, slide drive cable plate (1) towards rear and remove with rising cable from guide rail.







Installation note:
Insert positioning wedge (1) into drive cable plate.
Positioning wedge (1) must be located in free area of upper detent element (2) (if necessary, slide drive cable plate).
Slide drive cable plate with positioning wedge (1) towards rear onto upper detent element (2). (see marking).







Installation note:
Slide lower detent element (2) forwards until bridge snaps into guide rail.
Raise upper detent element in the process.







Installation note:
Slide upper detent element (1) forwards over drivers of lower detent element (2).
Press upper detent element (1) onto drivers of lower detent element (2) (see marking).







Installation note:
Slide positioning wedge (2) of drive cable plate towards rear.
Positioning wedge (2) of drive cable plate must slip into guides (marked area) of lower (3) and upper (1) detent elements.







Installation note:
Insert end stops and check that they are securely seated.
Slide positioning wedge (1) with drive cable plate on left and right with detent elements to full extent up to end stop (2).
Install drive with gearing.







NOTE:
- Check smooth and noise-free running of mechanism.
- Run a function check.
