51 44 013 Removing And Installing/Replacing Headliner (With Panorama Glass Roof)







When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.







Necessary preliminary work:
- Open slide/tilt sunroof
- Remove sun visor and counter supports on left and right
- Remove switch centre
- Remove ceiling light
- Remove all handles
- Detach edge protection from all doors in the headlining area
- Remove trim panel for roof pillar at front (A-pillar) left and right
- Remove trim panel for door pillar (top), left and right
- Remove trim for rear roof pillar (C-pillar), left and right
- Remove trim panel for rear roof pillar (D-pillar), left and right







NOTE: Graphic used is similar.

Release 5x screws (1).







Version with dividing net mounts:
Remove all load area net mounts (3).
Open protective cap (1).
Release screw (2) and remove dividing net mounts (3).

Installation note:
Pay attention to position specifications on reverse side of dividing net mounts.







Release expanding rivets (1).
Unclip clip (2).

Installation note:
Replace clip (2)







IMPORTANT: The following tasks must be carried out with a second person assisting:

Support headlining (1) at front.
Unclip headlining (1) in marked side area in downward direction (2).
Carefully pull headlining (1) forward until headlining (1) is fed out of remaining clips (2).
Pull down headlining (1).

Installation note:
Unclip rear clips (2) from roof frame.
Replace faulty clips (2).







Only necessary for complete removal of headlining:

IMPORTANT:
- The following tasks must be carried out with a second person assisting:
- Fold away headliner (1) towards bottom right and remove through rear lid opening.







Installation sequence:
1. Snap headlining at rear into clip
2. Screw down front headlining
3. Screw down rear headlining
4. Install grab handles at front first, then at rear
5. Screw down sun visors and counter supports
6. Secure edge protection to headlining
7. Fix tailgate gasket on headlining
8. Add final details to vehicle







Replacement:
Version with dividing net mounts:
Cut out premarked openings (1) on left and right with a scalpel.

IMPORTANT: Ensure a clean cut so that the headliner material is not damaged on the inside.
