51 16 165 Removing And Installing Complete Centre Console







Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove centre armrest storage compartment
- Remove centre console cover
- Remove gear selector switch







IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on handling wiring harnesses and cables.







Remove inlay mat (1) of cupholder.







Release screws (1) on centre console mount.
Tightening torque 51 16 4AZ.
Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.
Detach wiring harness from central console mount.







Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.







NOTE: Retaining tabs (1) are detached in the next operation.

Unclip bottom rear storage compartment (3) along the perimeter (2) at top.







Carefully fold back bottom rear storage compartment (2) until screwdriver can be inserted between retaining tab (1) and housing wall (3).
Disengage toward the inside by carefully levering out retaining tabs (1).
Unlock and detach existing plug connections, if necessary.
Remove bottom rear storage compartment (3).







Installation note:
Retaining tabs (1) and lugs on the entire periphery (3) at the bottom rear of storage compartment (2) must neither be missing nor damaged.

Replacement
- Modify inlet mat
- Modify rear cover







Undo screws (2) on bottom of support frame of centre armrest (1).
Tightening torque 51 16 4AZ.
Feed out centre console towards rear.
Unlock and disconnect plug connections and plug holders underneath.
