51 14 006 Replacing Badge Emblem On Left Or Right







IMPORTANT: The Instructions for adhering badge emblem serve as the basis for these repair instructions and must be followed without fail.







NOTE: A DIN A4 sheet (size 210 mm x 297 mm) is used. Arrow (F) denotes direction of travel.







Preparatory tasks:
- Mark front dimension "xv" and rear dimension "xh" from reference edge (x0) on sheet (1)
- Draw a dashed line to connect marked points "xv" and "xh"
- Draw a continuous parallel line below the dashed line at distance "x"







- Fold back sheet (1) along dashed line (3) (as illustrated)
- Cut sheet along line (2) and remove hatched part of sheet

NOTE: Fold forward for right-hand side.







Left door illustrated
x = 40 mm.
Place folded sheet on lower edge of door (4) offset by dimension "x" towards the rear and fix in position with adhesive tape at bottom.
Spread sheet upwards, tracing the contour (3) of the outer door panel. Secure with adhesive tape.
Align badge emblem (2) against point of intersection (1) and upper edge of sheet.
Before finally adhering, check that badge emblem (2) is perfectly horizontal.
Remove sheet from outer door panel.







Right door illustrated
Procedure same as for left-hand door.
