SUBJECT
F04 - Vehicle Cannot Be Started After High-voltage Battery Replacement

F04, ActiveHybrid 7

SITUATION
After replacement of a high-voltage battery, the vehicle will not start. CC message "Hybrid system faulty" will be displayed and fault code 21F046 "Contactors function disabled because Transportbit is set" is stored in the Battery Management Electronics (SME).

CAUSE
The bit set inside the SME of the new battery cannot be reset with the current version of ISTA/D.

PROCEDURE
Submit a PuMA case titled "F04 FC 21F046 - No Start" to Technical Service for further diagnostic and repair instructions.
