61 31 342 Removing And Installing (Replacing) GWS

Special tools required:







IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD protection).







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove cover for GWS







Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 61 31 1AZ.
Remove GWS (2) from centre console (3) and unlock and disconnect plug connection underneath.

Installation note:
Align GWS (2) centrally.







Replacement:
Carry out vehicle programming/encoding.







Replacement:

NOTE: From 03/2011 (F25) or from 09/2011 (F01-F07), a new connector with different pin assignment is fitted.

In the case of F25 (production date up to 03/2011) and F01-F07 (production date up to 09/2011), repin wiring harness from current eight-pin to new ten-pin connector (BMW Parts Department 9 132 577) using special tool 61 0 313.
