17 51 000 Replacing and installing/replacing charge air cooler (N54, N57) 740i, 730d, 740d





Necessary preliminary tasks:
^ Remove front underbody protection





Important!
Coat sealing rings of quick-connect couplings with antiseize agent.
Pressure pipes cannot be fitted without antiseize agent.





Release screws (1).

Tightening torque 17 10 2AZ.

Removing intercooler cover (2).

Only 740d:
Release coolant hoses from cover (2).





Unlock left charge-air duct (1) on intercooler and detach.

Unlock intercooler (2) towards front from holder.





Unlock right charge-air duct (1) on intercooler and detach.

Unlock intercooler (2) towards front from holder.





Unlock intercooler (1) towards front from holders and remove towards bottom.

Installation:
Charge-air hoses must audibly snap into place.

Coat sealing rings of charge-air hoses with antiseize agent.

Pressure pipes cannot be fitted without antiseize agent.





Check charge-air duct for leaks.

Assemble engine.
