Warning!
Danger of scalding!
Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.
Danger of injury!
Use only special tool 17 2 050 to lock and release spring strap.
Recycling
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
Catch and dispose of drained coolant in a suitable container.
Important!
Protect plug connections against coolant and contamination.
Cover plug connections with suitable materials.
Necessary preliminary work:
^ Drain coolant at coolant pump.
^ Remove fan cowl with electronic motor.
Disconnect plug connection (1) on coolant thermostat.
Unlock retaining clip (2) in upward direction.
Detach coolant hose (1) from coolant thermostat.
Lock hose clamp on coolant thermostat outlet with special tool 17 2 052.
Detach coolant hose from thermostat.
Unfasten hose clamp (1) on thermostat.
Tightening torque:11 53.
Release screw (1) on holder.
Tightening torque 11 53 2AZ.
Remove coolant thermostat.
Warning!
Danger of injury! Only use special tool 17 2 050 to lock and release spring strap.
Use special tool 17 2 051 to release spring strap.
Assemble engine.
