- If necessary, remove sealing on front door
- Remove cover on inside door window frame
- Release door stop from door pillar
- Affix templates for sealing on inner door panel
IMPORTANT:
- After disengaging door stop, use suitable means of preventing door from opening past its maximum permissible opening angle (risk of damaging paintwork or bodywork)
- Do not touch the bonding surface and make sure it is kept perfectly clean
- Do not overstretch or compress the seal when positioning it
- Maximum permissible sag of seal during positioning process 30 mm
- Always apply pressure perpendicular to the bonding surface to affix the seal
- It is the contact pressure applied (approx. 10 ... 15 N/cm2) that is decisive for a good bond, not the length of time over which pressure is maintained.
- Only after being pressed on gently, the seal can still be peeled off and repositioned up to 3 times
- Disengaging the seal after it has been pressed on firmly destroys the adhesive bond.
