63 31 ... Removing And Installing/Replacing Fibre Optic Conductor Of Rear Door Trim Panel, Storage Compartment







Special tools required:
- 64 1 020







WARNING: Fibre optic conductors are sensitive (risk of damage). Always handle carefully.







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove rear door trim panel
- Work station with cleaner working surface







Fibre optic conductor in storage compartment:
A. Remove LED module (3) in direction of arrow from bracket (2).
B. Carefully pull LED module (3) from fibre optic conductor (1).







IMPORTANT: Use suitable protector (2) to avoid damaging the storage compartment.

Pull out fibre optic conductor (1) with special tool 64 1 020 and unclip.







IMPORTANT: (Risk of fibre optic conductor (1) breaking)

A Pull downward
B Turn downward towards rear side of storage compartment







C Fold straight up
D Feed out and remove







Installation:
Check fibre optic conductor (1) for damage (scratches or cracks), replace if necessary.
