51 16 160 Removing And Installing Centre Console Cover







When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.







Open cup holder sealing cap and pull out protective carpet (1) at tab (see arrow).
If necessary, first remove tray insert or ashtray.







Open both centre console armrests.
Carefully lift off cover latch (1) by hand.







Release screws (1).

Installation:
Lightly screw in screws part way.

Tightening torque 51 16 9AZ.
Use adhesive tape to protect front decorative trim from damage.
Carefully lever out centre console trim (2) at marked locations on left and right.
Continue to lift up centre console trim (2) at rear at an angle and disconnect remaining plug connections.
Lift and push out 12-V power socket insert (3).
Carefully lift out centre console trim (2).







Installation:
Replace defective retainers (1).
Make sure centre console trim is seated correctly.
