13 31 029 Checking Fuel Delivery Pressure (N43, N53, N54, N54T)

Special tools required:







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Connect BMW diagnosis system.
- Remove front underbody protection.

IMPORTANT: Lines are under pressure.







Recycling:
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel in a suitable container.
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.







Unscrew nuts (1).
Remove guard plate (2).







Remove circlip (1).
Disconnect fuel line (2) from snap fastener and unclip from bracket.







Unscrew adapter (1) from special tool 13 5 270.







Insert special tool 13 5 270 between fuel lines (1).
Screw onto special tool 13 5 270, the special tool 11 4 310.
Screw IMIB 100 bar pressure sensor (2) on the special tool 11 4 310.

NOTE:
As an alternative to the 100 bar IMIB pressure sensor (1), the 25 bar pressure sensor can also be used. For this, screw on special tool 11 5 364 instead of special tool 114 310 into special tool 13 5 270. Or directly screw the pressure manometer from the set of special tools 13 3 060 onto the special tool 13 5 270.

Establish fuel delivery pressure. Read off fuel delivery pressure on IMIB and compare with values in diagnosis system.







Assemble engine.
Check fuel system for tightness.
