CBS Vehicle Data Correction With the Diagnosis System
CBS Vehicle Data Correciton With The Diagnosis System
If a reset is carried out inadvertently, the respective CBS item and its display value can be corrected to an estimated value. It is not possible to return to the old status.
It is possible to correct the CBS vehicle data in the dianosis system under the following path:
=>Diagnosis
=>Function selection
=>Service Functions
=>Maintenance
=>CBS Vehicle Data Correction
The correction is carried out by entering the service life. Note that only a service life value that is smaller than the existing one in the control unit will be accepted by the diagnosis system. In addition, the item service counter is automatically reduced by one during the correction.
NOTE:
- For each CBS Maintenance operation, and availability value serves as the basis for the calculation of the remaining time or remaining distance. A new component is assigned and availability of 100%.
- As the last value is overwritten when it is reset, the availability of an operation must be calculated. To calculate the correct value, the entries in the Service Booklet must be taken into account. The remaining availability in % can then be calculated on the basis of the last service deadline (date/km reading).
- The only exception to this is the brakes. For the brakes, availability is calculated by comparing the thickness of the brake linings on the vehicle to that of a new component. Please note that this calculation sets availability to 0% when the brake linings have a thickness of 3 mm (safety consideration).
Use the entries in the service booklet to determine an estimated service life. An estimated item-specific service life can be reconstructed using the previous service measurement (km reading and date). This excludes correction of the brake pad display. Note that a brake pad with a remaining thickness of under 3mm is to be valued as 0% availability in calculation.
NOTE:
- It is not possible to recontruct the old vehicle data.
- Correction can only be carried out if the service life value is smaller than the existing one.
- When the correction has been carried out, the service counter is automatically reduced by one.
- The estimated service life must be calculated on the basis of the service booklet and the service interval of the new part. The brake pads are an exception.
- When correcting distance and time-dependent CBS items, both target data are applied to the new service life.
