Removing and Installing/Replacing Rear Muffler

18 12 030 Removing and installing/replacing rear silencer (N54T)

Special tools required:







WARNING:
Risk of burning.
This repair work may only be carried out on an exhaust system which has cooled down.







Support rear silencer with special tool 31 2 220 and secure against falling out.







Release screws.
Tightening torque 18 20 9AZ.
Replace gasket.







Unfasten nut.
Tightening torque 18 31 4AZ.







Pull off rubber mount (1) from rear silencer left and right.
Lower and remove rear silencer.







NOTE:
Check rubber mount and replace if damaged.
Check exhaust system for leaks.
Reassemble the vehicle.
