51 76 040 - Removing and installing/replacing window frame seal





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Open folding roof
- Remove trim strips from drip moulding





Important!
Rubber frame (1) features an aluminium section inlay (3).
Carefully unwind rubber frame (1) (windscreen breakage).

Release all screws (2) on cowl panel strip (3).





Installation:
Insert cowl panel strip (1) over entire length into
A-pillar seal (2).

Note:
Tear-off lip (3) can be stuck on adhesive.
When rubber frame (2) is removed, tear-off lip (3) can tear off and remain in vehicle.





Replacement of rubber frame without windscreen removal:
Detach tear-off lip (3) from rubber frame (2).
If adhesive leaks over tear-off lip (3), this area must be cut out partially.
To facilitate installation, coat rubber frame (2) and body cutout with water.
Install rubber frame (2), paying attention to centre marking in so doing.

Replacement of rubber frame with removed or new windscreen:
Install rubber frame (2) with tear-off lip (3), paying attention to centre marking in so doing.
