26 20 000 Removing and installing front propeller shaft (S63)





Important!
^ Replacement only: according to installation with BMW diagnosis and information system under control unit function
Perform functional check of transfer box (calibration)





Important!
Do not move vehicle under its own driving power once propeller shaft has been removed.





Necessary preliminary tasks:
^ Remove underbody protection
^ Remove reinforcement plate
^ Remove exhaust system





Release screws (1) and remove air deflector (2).

Tightening torque 24 00 6AZ.





Release screws and remove heat shield (1).

Tightening torque 24 00 7AZ.





Release screws.

Installation:

Replace screws.

Tightening torque 26 11 9AZ.





Slide propeller shaft towards rear and remove.





Installation:
Slide propeller shaft fully towards rear.

Cup seal (1) must snap audibly into place and rest entirely on dust guard (2).
