51 16 373 Removing And Installing/Replacing Lock For Glovebox Lid On Left Or Right







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove glove compartment







E70/71 up to 09/09 only

Release screws (1).
Remove lock (2).







Installation:
Grommets (1) on glovebox (2) must not be damaged.
Lock must be correctly inserted into grommets (1).

Open glovebox lid.
For this purpose, move locking rod (1) in direction of arrow.







Release screws (3) from drive unit for locking rod (1).
Tightening torque 51 16 3AZ.
Remove drive unit for locking rod (1).

Installation:
Carry out manual function check for unlocking and locking of glove box cover.
When locked, the operating tab (4) must correctly operate the microswitch (2).
