Removing and Installing/Replacing Engine Oil Cooler

17 11 150 - Removing and installing/replacing engine oil cooler (N62TU, N54)





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove left wheel arch cover front section 51 71 038 Removing and Installing/Replacing Front Left or Right Wheel Arch Cover (Front Section)





Warning!
Danger of scalding!
Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.





Important!
Wear protective goggles and gloves.





Recycling:
Engine oil escapes when oil lines are released. Catch and dispose of emerging engine oil.
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.





Release screw.

Installation:
- Replace sealing rings.
- N62 tightening torque 17 22 4AZ. Mechanical Specifications
- N54 tightening torque 17 21 4AZ. Mechanical Specifications

Detach oil line (1) from engine oil cooler flange.

Catch and dispose of emerging fluid.
Unlock and disconnect holder (2).
Remove engine oil cooler (3).





Note:
After completing work, check engine oil level and top up if necessary.
