51 23 110 Removing And Installing/Replacing Left Hood/Bonnet Lock

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove front assembly underside protection
- Partially drain and top up coolant







Unclip coupling (1) from side panel.
Lever out cover (2) at coupling (1).
Lever cable (3) out of coupling (1).

NOTE: The operation "Disconnect cable for hood/bonnet lock" ends here.







Lever out expander rivets on transverse reinforcement. Press lock (1) and raise intake duct (2). Detach intake duct (2) from air filter housing in direction of arrow and remove.







Release screws on left and right sides of transverse reinforcement (1). Tightening torque 51 71 4AZ. Remove transverse reinforcement (1).







Unlock coolant hose (1) from radiator (2) and detach.







Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 51 23 2AZ.







NOTE: Attachment parts are shown removed for purposes of clarity.

Feed out hood/bonnet lock (1) through opening (2) towards rear.







NOTE: Attachment parts are shown removed for purposes of clarity.

Disengage Bowden cable (1) in direction of arrow from engine hood lock (2).

IMPORTANT: After reinstalling, fill and vent the cooling system.
