Tailgate Latch: Service and Repair

51 24 120 - Removing and installing/replacing left or right lock for rear lid lower section





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove trim for rear lid lower section 51 49 090 Removing And Installing/Replacing Panel For Rear Lid Lower Section
Security vehicles:
- Remove rear lid lower section armor-plating 51 49 090 Removing And Installing/Replacing Rear Lid Lower Section Armor-Plating (Security)





Disconnect Bowden cable (1 or 2).
(1) - Bowden cable for right lock
(2) - Bowden cable for left lock





Release screws (1).
Feed out lock (2) with Bowden cable (3).

Installation:
Make sure Bowden cable (3) is in correct position.
Tightening torque 51 24 2AZ 51 24 Rear Lid Latch, Locks.
