Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair
13 53 570 - Replacing pressure regulator on pressure accumulator of fuel injection system (M57TU, M57T2)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read out fault memory of DDE control unit; if necessary, work through test schedules
- Switch off ignition
- Remove intake air manifold
Note:
Cover intake ducts.
Important!
Protect alternator against escaping fuel.
Cover alternator with suitable apparatus (risk of damage).
Recycling:
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.
Disconnect connector (1).
Note:
Grip at hexagon head (2) when removing pressure sensor.
Release hexagon screw connection (3) on pressure accumulator.
Installation:
Secure position of pressure regulator and grip at hexagon fitting (2).
Tighten down hexagon screw connection (3).
Installation:
Tightening torque 13 53 13AZ 13 53 Fuel Injection Nozzles and Pipes.
Now clear the fault memory.
Installation:
Pressure regulator may only be used once.
Positioning before final tightening!
