Diesel Emissions Fluid Lines/Hoses: Service and Repair



16 19 005 Removing And Installing/Replacing Metering Line For Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)







IMPORTANT:
Ensure adequate ventilation in the workbay.
Avoid skin contact (wear gloves).
Avoid eye contact (safety goggles).
Urea/water mixture can escape when components carrying urea/water mixture are released. Have a collecting vessel ready.
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.







IMPORTANT:
Maintain conditions of absolute cleanliness.
Connections and covers of lines carrying urea/water mixture must be cleaned thoroughly with water after each removal or before each installation.
Thoroughly clean the working area with water after repair work.
Use fluff-free cloths for cleaning (see ETP Electronic Parts Catalogue WAYPALL L20 cleaning cloths).
Close connections and lines.
Thoroughly clean special tool with water after each use.







Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove active reservoir
- Remove right headlight
- Remove diesel particulate filter







Release screws (1).

Installation note:
Tightening torque 41 35 10AZ.







Disconnect plug connection (1).
Unclip line on module carrier (2).







Slacken nut (1).

Installation note:
Tightening torque 41 35 11AZ.
Tilt side panel outwards a little.
Raise outer module carrier (2) and feed out in downward direction.







NOTE: Picture shows engine and transmission removed for purposes of clarity.

Remove heat insulation (1).







IMPORTANT: Do not kink metering line (1).

Unclip metering line (1) from holders (2).







Unclip metering line (1) from holder (2).
Remove metering line (1).
