Rear Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Description and Operation
11 14 141 Replacing the front crankshaft seal (M57T2-SCR)Special tools required:
Necessary preliminary work:
^ Removing vibration damper
Fit special tool 11 1 212 onto crankshaft.
Removing crankshaft seal:
Screw in special tool 11 1 210 until it is firmly connected with crankshaft seal.
Then remove crankshaft seal by turning screw.
Fit special tool 11 6 470 onto crankshaft.
Lubricate special tool 11 6 470.
Important!
Do not under any circumstances touch sealing lip of new crankshaft seal with your fingers.
Slide new crankshaft seal over special tool 11 6 470 until crankshaft seal rests against gear case cover.
Remove special tool 11 6 470.
Screw special tool 11 6 490 into crankshaft and tighten down.
Fit special tool 11 5 110 onto crankshaft.
With special tool 11 5 110 and central nut of special tool 11 6 490, insert crankshaft seal until it is flush with gear case cover.
Assemble engine.
Check engine for leak tightness.
