Fault description


Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
Engine turning over
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
none

Condition for fault memory entry
Not possible to synchronize signal levels from both exhaust
camshafts with crankshaft tooth 0 during the first 100 engine
rotations.

Action in service
1. Check plugs and wiring harnesses on crankshaft sensor as
well as on Bank 1 and Bank 2 camshaft position sensors.
2. Check voltage of onboard electrical system
2. Replace camshaft position sensor
3. Update DME
4. Replace DME

Fault effect and breakdown warning
Reduced power / MIL lights up after engine runs 2x
