12 42 510 - Replacing battery positive lead (between starter and B+ terminal) (S65)

Read fault memory. Switch off ignition.

Observe instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery 12 00 ... Instructions For Disconnecting and Connecting Battery.
Disconnect battery negative lead from battery and lay to one side.

Necessary preliminary tasks:
Remove intake air manifold Service and Repair.
Release and raise cable duct for engine wiring harness; refer to Removing engine wiring harness 12 51 001 Replacing Wiring Harness Section for Engine





Release nut (2) on B+ lead.
Remove B+ leads.

Installation:
Tightening torque, 12 41 1AZ Mechanical Specifications





Release clamp for B+ lead on cylinder no. 4.
Unclip lead from cable holders.





Remove cover from B+ terminal. Unfasten nut. Remove B+ lead.

Installation:
Tightening torque, 12 42 1AZ Mechanical Specifications





Note:
Assemble engine.
Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.
Check stored fault messages.
Rectify faults and clear fault memory.
