32 41 311 Replacing Intake Pipe For Hydraulic Steering

32 41 311 Replacing suction line for power steering (from fluid reservoir to the power steering pump) N74





Warning!
Danger of poisoning if oil is ingested/absorbed through the skin!
Risk of injury if oil comes into contact with eyes and skin!

Important!
Adhere to the utmost cleanliness. Do not allow any dirt to enter the hydraulic system.
Close off pipe connections with plugs.





Recycling:
Catch and dispose of hydraulic fluid in a suitable container.





Necessary preliminary tasks:
^ Draw off and dispose of hydraulic fluid from fluid reservoir
^ Remove intake duct
^ Release oil reservoir





Loosen hose clamp.

Detach intake pipe from fluid reservoir.

Installation:
Marking (1) on fluid reservoir and marking (2) on suction line must match up.

Replace hose clamp.

Release universal joint on bottom steering gear.





Mark and release power steering gear at the front axle support.

Release and secure pressure lines on the stabilizer





Release screw (1) from expansion hose holder on the front axle support.





Release screw connection from return line and detach line.

Installation:
Replace sealing ring.

Tightening torque 37 13 8AZ.





Release screw (1) from holder on the power steering gear.

Tightening torque 32 41 7AZ.





Disconnect power steering gear from front axle support and pull forwards until hose clamp (1) at vane pump is accessible.

Release hose clamp (1) and remove line.

Installation:
Replace hose clip.





Release nut (1) from line holder on alternator.

Remove pipe.

After installation:
^ Fill and bleed hydraulic system





^ Carry out Dynamic Drive initial operation
^ Check pipe connections for leaks
