Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors between the active air flap
control and the DME.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when communications are
interrupted.
Potential problem source(s):
- Defect in power supply to radiator vent slat assembly
- Defect in wiring harness
- Radiator shutter defective
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
- Electrical system voltage > 10 V
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- None
Other conditions:
- none

Condition for fault memory entry
The fault is logged in the fault memory if it remains
continuously present for longer than 5 sec.

Action in service
- Check LIN bus between DME and radiator vent slat
assembly
- Check power-supply voltage to radiator vent slat assembly
- Check wiring harness
- Replace radiator vent slat actuator

- The engine may overheat.
