Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the knock sensor chip in
the DME.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is detected by the DME self-test.
Potential problem source(s):
- DME defective
Terminal condition: none
Voltage condition:
- None
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- None
Other conditions:
- Engine on

Condition for fault memory entry
The fault is logged in the control module's fault memory
after it is detected 10 times.

Action in service
- Determine whether diagnostic fault code is logged after the
following procedure. If yes, then replace the DME
- Clear control module fault memory
- Turn off ignition and allow vehicle to fully assume sleep
mode
- Ignition on
- Read fault code memory
