Fault text
Engine switch-off time, plausibility: Time to long in
correlation to engine-coolant cooling

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the time that the engine
requires to cool.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the engine has cooled too
slowly after a specific period of time.
Potential problem source(s):
- Collateral fault resulting from malfunction in registering
engine temperature
Terminal condition: none
Voltage condition:
Voltage in onboard electrical system > 10 V
Temperature condition:
Engine shutdown temperature > 78 °C
Time condition:
- Time with engine off less than 12 min. or longer than 4
hours
Other conditions:
Engine on

Condition for fault memory entry
The diagnostic fault code is logged when the fault remains
present for longer than 2 min.

Action in service
- Because this is a collateral fault, start by resolving issues
related to other faults logged in the DME related to engine
temperature monitoring; no additional action will be needed
with these kinds of faults
