undershot

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the high-pressure pump

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the monitored pressure
deviates from the specified pressure by -30 bar for > 7 sec.
Potential problem source(s):
- Flow-control valve sticking closed or pump is defective
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
- Electrical system voltage > 10 V
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- 10 sec. after engine start
Other conditions:
- 4 mg/inj. < specified fuel flow < 50 mg/inj.
- 4900 kPa < specified fuel pressure < 20500 kPa
- Closed-loop mixture control active
- Activated charcoal filter load < 1

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 7 sec.

Action in service
- Replace high-pressure pump

Fault effect and breakdown warning
Breakdown notice:
- The engine reverts to the limp-home mode, continued
driving possible but subject to severe restrictions, stop and
wait for service assistance as soon as possible.
Possible apparent symptoms:
- Loss of power
