Fault text
Charge-air temperature sensor, gradient: offset too high

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors whether the charge-air
temperature is unacceptably high during cold starts.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the charge-air temperature is
more than 25 °C above the coolant temperature, while the
coolant temperature is simultaneously in the vicinity of the
ambient temperature.
Potential problem source(s):
- Sticking sensor
- Shunt current
- Sensor manipulation
- Defective DME
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
- None
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- None
Other conditions:
- No electrical fault LV_ERR_TIA_EL is present

Condition for fault memory entry
1.5 sec.

Action in service
- Visual examination of plug/sensor for tampering
- Check sensor data/wiring harness
- Replace charge-air temperature sensor
- Replace DME
