Charge-air temperature sensor, plausibility: minimum
temperature implausible
Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors whether the charge-air
temperature is implausibly low.
Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the charge-air temperature is
more than 15 °C below the minimum of coolant and ambient
temperature.
Potential problem source(s):
- Sticking sensor
- Shunt current
- Sensor manipulation
- Defective DME
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
- None
Temperature condition:
- When the engine is started the ambient temperature must
exceed -7.5 °C and be less than 35.3 °C,
Time condition:
- None
Other conditions:
- Engine must be running, TIA electrical diagnosis
completed
Condition for fault memory entry
10 sec.
Action in service
- Visual examination of plug/sensor for tampering
- Check sensor data/wiring harness
- Replace charge-air temperature sensor
- Replace DME
