Fault text
Ambient-pressure sensor, run-on: pressure implausible
Fault description
In control module's shutdown phase, at NMOT=0 all three
pressure sensors undergo mutual plausibility checks, intake-
manifold pressure, boost pressure and ambient barometric
pressure in the control module. A two out of three selection
process detects sensors outside the tolerance range
Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
If the barometric pressure deviates from the other two
sensors by more than 70 mbar then it is classified as
implausible
Potential problem source(s):
- Sensor in ECU is defective
- Ventilation orifice in ECU is obstructed
- Problem with EBOX ventilation
Terminal condition: none
Voltage condition:
->10 volts
Temperature condition:
- Induction air
- Control module temperature
Time condition:
- 2 seconds after engine stops during shutdown phase
Other conditions:
- in shutdown phase T>2 sec. with engine rpm=0
- Barometric pressure >750 hPa
- 20< ECU temperature <146
- 20 < Intake-air temperature < 100
Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 0.2 sec.
Action in service
- Sensor on chip, measure with Terminal 15 on (Inpa)
Fault effect and breakdown warning
Breakdown notice:
- none
Possible apparent symptoms:
- Low
