Fault text
Turbocharger-coolant pump, control line, electrical: Short to
earth

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the voltage in the signal
wire to the turbocharger water pump.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the voltage on the signal wire
for the turbocharger water pump is 0 V when a control
signal is being transmitted.
Potential problem source(s):
- Defective signal wire
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
- Electrical system voltage > 10 V
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- None
Other conditions:
- No internal DME faults should be present

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 42 sec.

Action in service
- Check wiring harness between turbocharger water pump
and DME

Fault effect and breakdown warning
Breakdown notice:
- Drive with moderation, do not shut down hot
- Proceed to service facility
Possible apparent symptoms:
- When the fault occurs in 4 driving cycles then a CC
message is generated. If overheating occurs, leaks can form
in the cooling system, resulting in overheating/engine
damage/breakdown.
