Mass air flow sensor 2: Short to earth

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors whether the digital air-
mass signal for Bank 2 switches between LOW and HIGH.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the digital air mass signal 2 is
continuously at low level.
Potential problem source(s):
- Signal line: Short circuit to ground
Terminal condition: none
Voltage condition:
- Electrical system voltage > 10 V
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- None
Other conditions:
- Engine on

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 0.8 sec.

Action in service
- Visual examination of plug-in contacts (at component and
DME ends) Perform electrical measurements on sensor wire,
power supply and ground (possible intermittent open!)
- Replace sensor
