Fault text
Coolant pump for intercooler, communication plausibility:
no voltage at emergency operation input of pump

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the voltage on Pin 3
(emergency default terminal) on the intercooler water pump.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when no voltage is present at Pin 3
(emergency default input terminal) for the intercooler water
pump when Terminal 15 is on or voltage is present when
Terminal 15 is off.
Potential problem source(s):
- Collateral fault when defects occur on LIN bus, especially
when diagnostic fault code 0x20A001 is logged
- Defect in wiring harness between DME (Pin 46) and
intercooler water pump (Pin 3)
- Intercooler water pump defective
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
- Electrical system voltage > 10 V
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- None
Other conditions:
- No faults should be present on the LIN bus

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 10 sec.

Action in service
- Determine whether collateral faults related to the LIN bus
are present
- Check wiring harness between DME and intercooler water
pump
- Replace intercooler water pump
