51 44 013 Removing And Installing/Replacing Headlining (Version With Panorama Glass Roof)







When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.







Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove slide/tilt sunroof cover at front
- Remove roof switch cluster
- Remove both sun visors and counter supports
- Remove mirror light
- Remove Interior roof light (rear)
- Remove all grab handles
- Remove both trim panels for roof pillar at front (A-pillar)
- Remove both trim panels for door post at top (B-pillar)
- Remove both trim panels for rear roof pillar (C-pillar)
- Remove both trim panels for rear roof pillar (D-pillar)
- Detach edge protection of all doors in the headlining area
- Detach tailgate seal (upper) in the headlining area

Additional when removing entire headlining:
- Remove windscreen







Switch cluster area:
Release screws (1).







Release screws (1).







Interior roof light area:
Release screw (1).







Roof frame-tailgate area:
Release retaining clip (1) from clamp (2).

Installation note:
Replace faulty clamp (2) or retaining clip (1).







- Move driver's and front passenger seat backrests as far back as possible.

IMPORTANT: The following tasks may only be carried out with a second person assisting.







NOTE: Graphic is similar.

Support headlining (1) at front.
Detach edge protection from tailgate and all doors in headlining area (1).
Unclip headlining (1) at clips (2) in sunroof frame area in downward direction.

Installation note:
Replace faulty clips (2).







Installation sequence:
1. Snap headlining at rear onto clips
2. Screw down front headlining
3. Screw down rear headlining
4. Install grab handles at front first, then at rear
5. Screw down sun visors and counter supports
6. Secure edge protection of all doors at headlining
7. Attach tailgate seal (upper) at headlining
8. Add final details to vehicle
