51 23 110 Removing And Installing/Replacing Left Bonnet Lock







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove service flaps, left and right







Slacken screws (1) and release screws (2).
Tightening torque 51 61 4AZ.







NOTE: For purposes of clarity, picture shows component removed.

Pull back retaining spring from release lever (1).
Feed Bowden cable (2) out of release lever (1) and lock carrier (3).







Bonnet lock with microswitch:
Detach plug connection (1) by twisting from lock carrier.
Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.







Release screws (1) on bonnet lock (2).
Tightening torque 51 23 2AZ.







Push bonnet lock (1) inwards until lock carrier (2) can be raised at the rear (see dashed line).







Lift out bonnet lock (1).

Bonnet lock with microswitch:
Feed out cable from microswitch for anti theft alarm system.
Remove bonnet lock (1).







Replacement

Bonnet lock with microswitch:
Completely feed out wiring harness (1) from microswitch (2).
Lift retaining tab (3) on microswitch (2) and remove microswitch (2) in direction of arrow.
