Squeaking Noise from the Window

MODEL
F07 (5 Series Gran Turismo) produced up to 9/10/09

SITUATION

When opening or closing the power windows, a squeaking noise is present. The noise is especially noticeable when the glass is wet.

CAUSE

The door glass is rubbing against the flocked inner cavity cover.

CORRECTION

Modify the inner cavity cover to create a buffer between the glass and the flocked cavity cover.

PROCEDURE

1. Lower all 4 windows fully, and remove the outer belt moldings by carefully levering them up off the outer door panel. This should be performed carefully, such that the molding is not distorted and the door is not scratched.
